Cooch Behar I (community development block) (Bengali: কোচবিহার I সমষ্টি উন্নয়ন ব্লক) is an administrative division in Cooch Behar Sadar subdivision of Cooch Behar district in the Indian state of West Bengal. Koch Bihar police station serves this block. Headquarters of this block is at Ghugumari. There are two census towns in this block: Kharimala Khagrabari and Guriahati.[1][2]

As per 2001 census, Cooch Behar I block had a total population of 284,564, out of which 146,298 were males and 138,266 were females. Cooch Behar I block registered a population growth of 14.79 per cent during the 1991-2001 decade. Decadal growth for the district was 14.15 per cent.[2]Decadal growth in West Bengal was 17.84 per cent.[4]
Cooch Behar I block had a literacy rate of 67.98 per cent - males 77.41 per cent and females 57.99 per cent.[3]
